The system

Retention runs on three numbers.

Email should be doing 30 to 40% of your revenue. For most brands it sits under 10%, either because almost nothing goes out, or because plenty goes out and none of it is built around the three numbers that decide what the channel is worth.

  • Acquisition efficiency

Every visitor you do not capture is one your automations never get to work on.

  • The second order

About 7 in 10 ecommerce customers never buy twice, and the ones who do are roughly twice as likely to buy again after that.

  • Lifecycle segmentation

Every customer sits somewhere between their first visit and their fifth order. Your best 20% get their own treatment, and the rest get moved toward it.

What we do

Retention handled end to end.

Strategy, creative, build and reporting, all of it ours. You approve the plan and watch the numbers in your own Klaviyo dashboard.

  • List growth

Your sign-up form feeds every flow you have. Klaviyo's own benchmark is 3%, we build to 8% and keep testing past it, so the flows underneath have a bigger list to work with.

  • Campaign management

Planned a month ahead, then written, designed and built by us. Every send is segmented, so more campaigns never means more emails landing on the same person.

  • Automations and flows

Welcome, cart, checkout, browse, site abandonment, post-purchase and winback, split by first-time and returning customers. Built once, then rebuilt as the numbers come in.

  • A/B testing and optimisation

Subject lines, creative, send times, offers and form copy, tested every week rather than once at launch. What wins goes back into the flows so the gains hold.

  • Segmentation and deliverability

Deliverability audited and fixed before the first campaign goes out, then segments built and the list kept clean. An email in the spam folder does not get a second chance.

  • End-to-end strategy

One senior specialist runs the whole channel and carries three retainer clients at most. The person who audits your account is the person who writes the emails and sends them.

Most agencies sell one-way tickets. We sell roundtrips.

Translation: the ads buy the first order. We're built for every order after it.

Case studies

Results.

Every figure below comes from the client's own Klaviyo dashboard, and the dashboard is right there beside it.

"I was hesitant because I've worked with freelancers before who didn't 'get' the My Secret Swim vibe, but Jamie instantly understood our audience and tone. Since working together, open rates are up, sales have increased, and I finally feel confident in our email marketing strategy."

Lisa Bullen, Founder, My Secret Swim

"He very quickly identified and fixed our deliverability issues, so open rates went from 33% to 48% overnight. He brought his own great ideas for campaigns and quickly learned our brand voice. Our revenue from email increased by 149% in just 60 days."

Laura Smith, Founder, Snorkelbear Swimwear

The founder.

Jamie Hughes, founder of Roundtrip Emails

I'm Jamie, and I run Roundtrip from Perth. I've spent the last few years inside the Klaviyo accounts of more than 15 six and seven figure DTC brands, and every case study on this page is my own work.

Every agency I looked at was built to win the first order, and most of them run on weekly calls nobody wants. Give me Klaviyo access and I'll show you where the money is leaking within a day.

P.S. If your list has thousands of past customers on it and email is still under 25% of revenue, you're the exact brand this was built for.

Questions, answered.

How is Roundtrip different?

Most agencies sell one-way tickets. The ads land a customer, they buy once, and nothing brings them back. We build the return leg. Email and SMS only, ecommerce brands on Klaviyo only, and your account is led by the senior specialist doing the work, who carries a maximum of three retainer clients at a time. We put speed in writing: audit in 24 hours, first sends in 7 days, flows live in 21 days.

What do you actually do?

Everything the retention channel needs. Strategy, flow builds, campaigns, copy, design, segmentation, deliverability, popups, SMS on our Scale plan, reporting, and ongoing optimisation. You approve the plan, we run the channel, and you watch the numbers in your own Klaviyo dashboard.

How much does it cost?

Every plan is a flat monthly retainer, and you'll get exact pricing with your audit. No setup fees, no surprises, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Why is the first engagement 90 days?

Because that's how long the build takes to prove itself. The system goes live in the first three weeks. The data showing it works arrives over the next two months. Every case study we publish hit its numbers inside 60 days, and the 90-day window is what makes results measurable instead of anecdotal. After that, everything rolls month-to-month with 14 days notice. If we're not earning the retainer, leaving is easy. That's deliberate.

How many campaigns will you send?

8 a month on Foundation, 14 to 16 on Growth, up to daily on Scale. Every send is segmented, so more campaigns never means more emails to the same person. Volume without segmentation burns a list, and we don't do it at any price.

How quickly will I see results?

The audit is in your inbox 24 hours after Klaviyo access. First sends go out inside 7 days. Flows are live in 21 days. Meaningful revenue movement shows within 30 to 60 days, and if a popup and core flows are missing today, those alone usually move the number in month one.

Do I need to be on Klaviyo?

For retainers, yes. We're specialists, and Klaviyo is the platform we're built on. If you're elsewhere and considering the move, we'll quote the migration as its own project and tell you honestly whether it's worth making.

Will there be lots of calls?

No, and that's a feature. Updates arrive as Looms and numbers in your dashboard, questions get answered in Slack, and Growth and Scale include one optional 30-minute call a month. You're hiring us so you can stop thinking about email, not attend more meetings about it.

Who is this not for?

Brands under about $50k a month, who usually get more from the Flow Engine than a retainer. Founders who want daily calls. Brands committed to a platform other than Klaviyo. Better to say it here than discover it together in month two.
